Whatsapp Status

I am not sure how proficient you are with Whatsapp but I have learned something new lately which I think it is very interesting and I wanted to share it. This is very easy to set.

WhatsApp Status allows you to share photos, videos and animated GIFs that disappear after 24 hours to either all your contacts, all your contacts “but” selected people, a group of people of just one person. But all that is done without having to “send” it via a Whatsapp message or a group Whatsapp.

The first thing you have to do is to change your status “privacy” to decide who can see the pics or videos you add to your “status”.

By default, your status updates are set to be shared with all your contacts.

To change your status privacy:

  1. Go to the Status screen.
  2. Tap the Menu Button > Status privacy.
  3. Choose who can see your status updates.

Now you can share!

  1. Go to the Status screen.
  2. Click on Camera to take a new photo or record a new video, or choose an existing
  3. pic or video from the roll. You can also add text to your photos and videos.

To view someone’s status update>

  1. Tap the Status tab
  2. Select a contact’s status name, you will see all the pictures or videos she/he is sharing.
  3. If you want to comment on one of the videos or pictures, you just need to tap Reply at the bottom of the screen while viewing their status. This reply will not reflect as Sent anywhere. It will only be seen by the person that is sharing their Status that you are replying to as a Whatsapp chat in your shared conversation.

Once you have shared something in “Status” you can check who has seen it if you touch in “My Status” and then in the “eye” symbol.
